“A Christmas Carol,” Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his magical journey into Christmas past, present, and future, will once again feature a young West Windsor resident in the role of Tiny Tim. Noah Hinsdale returns for the second year to play the role of Tiny Tim.
Hinsdale got his show biz break last year when his mother, Margie, saw an audition call for the McCarter production in the WW-P News. “I thought it might be something Noah would enjoy. I asked him if he wanted to go and sing a song and he said yes.”
At the time Noah loved to sing and had been taking piano lessons since he was five as well as hip hop dance class at the Dance Corner. But, his mother noted, he had never done acting before and has never taken acting lessons. “He fell in love with the music from the show ‘Wicked’ and so I took him to see it over the summer,” said his mother. “It was at that time that he decided he wanted to be in a show.”
One highlight of every McCarter production of “A Christmas Carol” is the ensemble of 14 area children who light up the stage in a variety of roles. This year’s group also includes Benjamin Palmer of West Windsor, who portrays the roles of the Beggar Boy, Ignorance, and a boy in the school.
Under the direction of Michael Unger, the young actors will take the stage alongside the professional acting company headed by Broadway veteran Graeme Malcolm, playing Scrooge.
