Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission has awarded grants to their 2004 Local Arts Grants recipients including Plainsboro Public Library, $2,”050; and New Jersey Opera Theater, based in Plainsboro, $1,”500.
New Jersey Opera Theater is run by Plainsboro residents Scott and Lisa Altman. This is their first mini grant from the Middlesex County group. They have also received a grant from Target Stores.
Engagement
Molly Ford and Zachary Slenker are planning a December wedding. She is the daughter of Taylor and Abigail Ford of Ewing. He is the son of Kirk and Beverly Slenker of Dallastown, Pennsylvania.
Ford is a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School and Penn State University. She received a master’s degree in school counseling from Rider University.
Slenker received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Penn State University and is employed by the Baltimore County Police Department.
Wedding
Stephanie Heather Demsky and Jason David Gold were married September 13 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. Rabbi Moishe Edelman and Cantor Bruce Haller performed the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara and Martin Demsky of West Windsor. A graduate of the Hun School and the University of Miami, she is an outside sales representative for Verizon in Manhattan.
The groom is the son of Shirley and Terry Gold of Staten Island. He is a manager for Tedeschi Capital Markets on the floor of the American Stock Exchange.
Births
A son was born to Michael and Kim Britton of Raleigh, North Carolina on January 16. The new father is a 1991 graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School. Grandparents include Jack and Sue Britton of Plainsboro.
A daughter was born to Niki Ryan of West Windsor on January 21, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton. Ryan attended West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, and graduated from high school in Winter Park, Florida in 1998. Sarah is the first grandchild for Don Ryan of West Windsor.

Sons were born to Plainsboro residents India and Dorsey Criss, January 12; Carolyn Recia and Paul Stoecker, January 16; and Manjula Arakataram and Mahesh Geeniga, January 23.
Sons were born to West Windsor residents Theza and Robert Friedman, January 15; and Ying Guo and Michael Li, January 26.
