You were kind enough to print a letter from me back in January in which I bemoaned that the mayor of West Windsor had refused to see me as a follow up to an earlier meeting in 2009. At that earlier meeting, we discussed the appalling state of disrepair that he has allowed Princeton Junction to fall into, and I made some constructive suggestions as to what needed to be done. As a footnote to my published letter in January, the mayor commented that he had already seen me in 2009 and would continue to see ALL residents of Princeton Junction to discuss developments in the township.
Having read his footnote, I naturally called his office again to arrange a second meeting but was told by his secretary that the mayor had instructed her not to make any appointments for him with me. As he had stated in print that he would see ALL residents, I find this rebuttal to be insulting and unprofessional. Since he refused to see me personally again, I invited his secretary to ask him to call me so at least I could discuss the issues with him by phone –– if not in person. Six weeks later, I have yet to hear from the mayor.
Nothing is being done to rectify the eyesore that has become Plywood Junction as the mayor continues to dig his head in the sand as to the appalling state of the Route 571 corridor. He appears to be focusing instead on the dreaded Village Transit Center and other large-scale developments when an immediate clean up of what we already have is of paramount importance.
Surely, a 25-year property tax payer in the township is entitled to a follow-up audience with the mayor, and I hope that on reading this letter he’ll see the error of his ways and grant me a second meeting so that the issues at stake can be discussed in a professional and sensible fashion.
