Editor’s note: West Windsor resident Julie Hein Greener, 46, died from cancer of an unknown primary on June 30.
As all of you know Julie’s Funeral and Shiva Remembrances this past week were totally overwhelming. The amount of mourners and well wishers exceeded everyone’s expectations. Our Rabbi said we most likely set a record for the most people at a grave side service, and it was a record Julie would have been very proud of.
Having so many people show up truly reflected the life of my beautiful Julie. She was the brightest star in an already bright star field. Speaking to you all over the past week and reading your cards gave me and my family such comfort and consolation. What I came to know from speaking to each of you is that she gave all comfort despite the deepest pain she felt. She made you laugh, even when she herself felt like crying.
Most of all what I have heard this past week is what an inspiration Julie was to all of you. That will stay with me the rest of my life and will console me in times of loneliness. My deepest hope is that she will continue to inspire us to be the best we can be and struggle for our goals no matter what obstacles.
In my life time I can never repay the debt of gratitude for the kindness you have shown Julie, me, and the rest of my family during this extremely difficult period of our lives. From the bottom of my heart and that of my family thank you all for every meal, ride, visit, phone call, text, donation, and prayer. They were truly a blessing for us all.
