The West Windsor-Plainsboro Education Foundation supports excellence in our schools through fostering innovative and creative ideas in classroom teaching. During this school year, we are funding many exciting programs, including a wireless weather station for use in 4th grade meteorology and 5th grade chemistry classes, and a StarLab mobile planetarium for use in 3rd grade astronomy classes. Last year, the WW-P Education Foundation supported a high school drama program in conjunction with McCarter Theater at High School South and a program at Community Middle School where students built a project to explore solar energy to illustrate the concepts of the 7th grade physics.
Nationally, education foundations are vital components of superior, innovative education, even within a high-performing district such as West Windsor-Plainsboro. As a private, non-profit charitable organization, we sponsor programs that are not funded by the school budget. We serve the entire school community –– every school and every aspect of the academic curriculum. We also fund pilot programs to evaluate new technology, such as the initial program to bring SMARTBoards into the classroom and recent programs utilizing iPads to enhance teaching art in creative ways. We support and operate the WWPNorthAlumni.org and WWPSouthAlumni.org websites and help to keep our alumni engaged and connected.
All of our funding comes from donations from parents, alumni , local residents and local companies and foundations. We are especially thankful to Novo Nordisk, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, who support innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs for all grade levels. PNC Bank is a generous supporter of early literacy programs.
Please join us and be a part of supporting innovative programs for our children. Invest in our children and community by making a generous donation.
