Editor’s Note: The following was sent to the postmaster of Plainsboro.
I am writing to try to solve a serious problem that has been occurring for several years. That is mail not delivered or incorrectly delivered. This happens all too often.
I receive mail addressed to others and always return it to the post office. I have reason to believe that when this happens to others, they simply throw away the misdelivered mail. My reason for claiming this is that on more than one occasion, a bill was not received and I was charged late fee for non-payment.
Today a gentleman who lives at 90 Ashford brought me a packet of letters addressed to me at 90 Tennyson that were received by him. (I have frequently received his mail).
This is unacceptable. I understand that no person is perfect, but this problem is too frequent to be dismissed. Perhaps carriers would be more attentive if not diverted by their phones and other technology and were less automatic and mindless while delivering our mail. I do not know if this would help, but it would be worth a try.
