I would like to take this opportunity to enthusiastically endorse Deborah Marinsky for school board member and encourage all WW-P voters to remember her on election day.
I feel uniquely qualified to offer my highest recommendation for this incredibly community minded woman whom I have known both as a coworker at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and as a friend.
I was privileged to work with Deborah when she was serving as one of the two South librarians and I was teaching Language Arts.I witnessed her exceptionally high degree of professionalism and tireless efforts on behalf of her students time and time again. No student’s request was ever too small, no research clue too obscure, no assignment too near the deadline for Deborah to pitch in and give each and every student her singular focus and effort. High school students are very savvy. They know when they are dealing with a committed and caring educator. Every student who ever mentioned Deborah to me did so with glowing and respectful accolades.
Deborah and I have been friends for over 17 years, and between us we represent over 55 years of West Windsor citizenship. One of the areas in which we have so much in common is our respect for the education her three and my two children received from this district.
Not only did we work for the district, all five of our children graduated from either North or South and each and every one received an outstanding education. Deborah and I are both extremely concerned about the changes that are being inflicted, across the board, on our districts’ historically renowned curriculum.
Even though she has recently retired, her concern for maintaining the reputation of our highly acclaimed school district continues. Deborah wants to see our schools continue to offer all of the excellent, competitive educational opportunities that they have afforded past generations of West Windsor-Plainsboro students.
She is adamant that our school district continue to support multi level opportunities for all student abilities by, among other ideas, reinstating science, social studies and math priorities in elementary school, restoring final exams and teaching grammar and vocabulary in every grade. She believes each and every student deserves to be challenged and is against the unfathomable homogeneous “dumbing down” of our district’s expectations for our students.
A vote for Deborah Marinsky for the WW-P school board in November is a vote for protecting the outstanding multi-level educational opportunities all West Windsor-Plainsoboro students deserve.
