I value greatly the qualities of West Windsor as a community. Thus, I seek the voters’ support in the November election to serve on council to work hard to ensure a high quality of life going forward in the place where I will raise a family.
After living in Newark and then Somerset, my fiancee, Jennifer, and I chose to buy a house in West Windsor. The preserved open space in town represented to me a good staple to New Jersey, “The Garden State.” In addition, the town’s Silver LEED energy efficiency certification struck the passionate, professional chord in me. With children in our plan, the school district sold us; and the esthetics of town sealed the deal.
After earning a B.S. degree in electrical engineering at NJIT, I have spent my career in PSE&G, IBM, a consulting company, and am currently employed in a software startup. The mission of the company is to provide sustainable energy savings and revenues to consumers without any government subsidies.
My professional experience directly links me with West Windsor issues past and present. My experience in solar energy would have enabled me to ask the right questions so that our community wouldn’t be so adversely affected by the Mercer County Community College solar panels and could benefit from the renewable energy in an emergency. Even now, West Windsor is looking to spend $5.1 million on building revisions on the justification of energy efficiency. My experience with major projects for PSE&G and the government would address this in a smarter and more executable way.
Our residence is on Washington Road. NJDOT’S ill-conceived action at the intersection of Route 1 and Washington Road with resulting illegal U-turns and safety hazards were disturbing and directly influenced me. This sealed my decision to be proactive and get involved with West Windsor’s government.
The bottom line is that my fiancee and I are going to be long-term residents of West Windsor. As such, I want to ensure this town is an attractive place to raise our family. If elected, all my actions will be driven by what is in the best interest of West Windsor over the long haul.
Being new to town but not to New Jersey, I bring some unique attributes to the field. I bring new ideas for efficiency in the budget, youthful energy, and the ability to think long term. I also have the personality and skills to work with everyone serving on the council, as well as the mayor. In the coming months, I, along with my running mates, Hemant Marathe for mayor and Linda Geevers for Council, will reach out to engage as many of you as possible to discuss your ideas or concerns for West Windsor. We hope to earn your vote in the November election.
