I am announcing my candidacy for the Legislative District 15 vacancy.
As an employment lawyer, I have spent the last 20 years advocating for workers; as a councilwoman, I have championed the best interests of our residents; as an immigrant, I bring a diversity of representation needed in the New Jersey Legislature; and as a community builder, I have worked tirelessly to promote dialogue and build consensus in West Windsor.
As there are several highly qualified candidates in the field, here is why I am running:
I am a policy nerd.
I had the privilege of serving on Governor Murphy’s policy transition team for Labor and Workforce Development and am now ready to move these proposals to action.
I believe in the governor’s progressive vision and can help him move New Jersey forward.
My policy priorities are:
(a) Creating public-private partnerships to ensure up-skilling of the current workforce to get New Jersey’s unemployed back to work;
(b) Requiring the state Deptartment of Education provide specific skills to prepare our youth for the 21st Century workplace;
(c) Dismantling Christie-era undertaxing of commercial property owners that shifted the burden to residential taxpayers;
(d) Working to achieve a balance between allowing our workers a earn a “living wage” while protecting New Jersey’s small businesses; and
(e) Guarding the environment where we live and work.
I ask for the opportunity to be your advocate in the New Jersey Assembly.

Hamilton, a registered Democrat, is a member of West Windsor Council.
According to Hamilton, the process for choosing Muoio’s replacement is as follows: the Mercer County Decocratic Party will hold a convention on Feb. 10 at which county committee members will cast their vote for a person to fill the vacancy. Another convention will be held in March to determine the candidate to run for the unexpired term in the November election.
