Nearly 40 years ago, my wife and I moved to West Windsor to raise our family in a beautiful town of diverse and engaged residents. I have since had the honor of serving West Windsor in a wide variety of ways:
In 2009, I was elected as councilman for 4-1/2 years and served as council president for two consecutive years. As a councilman, I served on the planning board and the affordable housing committee. I also served as a liaison to the zoning board, the environmental commission and the school board.
In 2017, I was sworn in as a commissioner of the Mercer County Improvement Authority, as a commissioner to tax assessor’s office, and advisor to the environmental commission.
Over these years of public service and other volunteer work, I have learned much about the strengths, potential and needs of West Windsor. So I decided it was time for me to work even harder to celebrate our assets, capitalize on our potential, and address our needs.
Since I declared in April my candidacy for the mayor of West Windsor, my running mates (Kristin Epstein and “YZ” Zhang) and I have visited 6,000 homes in every neighborhood to listen to the issues that most concern our residents:
1. Ensuring that properties are developed responsibly to increase tax revenue without burdening our schools, infrastructure, and overall quality of life.
2. Increasing tax revenue from non-residential sources. After earning a masters degree in engineering and management, I have spent most of my career cutting costs and increasing revenues for a Fortune 500 company and for my own business. I know how to provide tax relief, especially for seniors, and to give our residents the most value for their taxes.
3. Improving infrastructure to provide safe roads, sidewalks, bike paths, and street lights. We especially need to focus on high traffic areas for our seniors, such as the entrance to Village Grande, and for our students, such as the intersections that border High School South.
4. Bringing public sewer and private water service to residents along Cubberley Road, Line Road, South Post Road, and Old Trenton Road.
These priorities are my priorities. These discussions have been a rewarding, informative, and humbling experience. I am honored to have this opportunity to hear what residents like and what they want fixed. If elected, I will maintain this open door communication. In the days before this important election, Kristin Epstein, “YZ” Zhang, and I will continue to knock on doors to hear from every resident. I have no personal agenda, just a burning desire to serve the community that has given my family so much. If elected to serve as your mayor, I will hit the road running to use my education, experience, and contacts to work diligently for all West Windsor residents.
