I have known Louisa for 14 years, and during that time we have worked on events, from arranging class parties for 24 second graders to huge Girl Scout events for more than 700 participants. Louisa’s attention to detail assures that everything she does is well thought out and executed flawlessly.
Louisa takes the task she is given and thinks beyond the issue at hand, visualizing not only how she can solve the problem but how to improve the outcome. As the service unit manager for WW-P Girl Scouts, she works non-stop putting in countless hours to perfect every project, insuring that every scout has an optimal experience.
Working with the Girl Scouts, she has used the management skills she developed in business to help new leaders find their way as well as helping seasoned leaders hone their skills. A high percentage of her scouts have attained the gold award, which is a testament to her commitment to her troops and to their respect for her and what she does. She is universally admired by parents and scouts for her dedication.
As a service unit manager, I have seen her handle controversial situations to a positive outcome where a resolution didn’t seem possible. I am certain that Louisa’s ability to consider all aspects of an issue, analyze it and come up with the best solution for all, has prepared Louisa to be a very effective member of the school board.
Kate Henkel
Co-Service Unit Manager
WW-P Girl Scouts
I have known Louisa from the time I joined Girl Scouts as a new leader about five years ago. One reason for my being a Girl Scout leader was when I listened to her for the first time in the Girl Scout introduction meeting, I was very impressed by her energy and her belief in how good it can be for your daughter. Throughout the five years, Louisa has impressed me even more, taking care of not only the programs, but cultivating new leaders to lead effectively, guiding and advising the girls.
I know I can trust her for getting the right advice in any situation, be it obstacles in dealing with difficult situations, or obstacles while executing an event, or planning the next steps for an activity. Her clear foresight guided the service unit to be the strongest one in the area. My background as a senior manager in management consulting for more than 20 years has made me recognize leaders when I see one. To me, Louisa is one of the inspiring leaders who make a difference to the community.
