There has been a lot of chatter recently in a Princeton-area newspaper regarding the civility of the public during West Windsor Council meetings. The taxpaying peasants are afforded a three-minute window to address issues either ignored or endorsed by the mayor and Council’s private agenda. For the most part, there is little discussion.
If my memory serves me correctly, I believe the Emperor just hired a seasoned business administrator who could walk on water one week ago! While the new BA has “no idea” (her words) on why she was terminated (“it was political”) in her previous job, her credentials were vetted by esteemed township resident professionals. Did the Township hire a full business administrator or only half? Was this the game plan all along?
Perhaps the mayor needs a job for another neighbor?
As the Emperor expands his Empire at the Municipal Palace, weren’t we just hearing concerns about too little space? There is no need to bond for additional computers when we hire people to count beans.
How is the Township going to replace the loss of the $13,500/month plus utilities when the U.S. Postal Service pulls the plug on its lease in January, 2013?
Mixed signals prevail. Without public discussion, the mayor authorized painting of the Grover House, which only a month earlier he was willing to spend $60,000 to put the house into a dumpster. There still has been no public accounting. Without discussion, another palace eyesore, the Memorial Health Department trailer duct-taped to the Hillier-designed building, was repainted by administrative fiat.
Prostitution and massage parlors running rampant? Need another bike path? More cops needed on the night shift when the Chief might be taking those occasional “3 a.m.” calls? More trucks/toys for a crowded Public Works staff?
Civility? The Emperor is sooooooooooo out of line. Isn’t this move one week after the new BA’s hire a tad premature? Why no mention or discussion of the whopping sewer rate increase? So many, many questions … so few answers from the directly elected, fully accountable mayor.
When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping (for more staff).
