Let me start by saying that our son really enjoys reading your newspaper when it arrives every two weeks. The police blotter is our favorite part of the paper.
Our family goes to Perkins in East Windsor at 50 Princeton-Hightstown Road for our family breakfast each Saturday. Two weeks ago we were there and as usual our son had his iPad with him to amuse himself while waiting for our food. Shortly after we left, we were in the car and we realized that we did not have his iPad with us.
We promptly called the restaurant to see if they had the iPad there, about 10 minutes had transpired. They told me that indeed they did have the iPad, after we had left they noticed it was in the booth, and they put it aside for us. We were greatly relieved.
But more than that it made us thankful that we live in a relatively small town where we have gotten to know many of the people at the local establishments and as a community they had helped protect us. When we went back for breakfast this past weekend we pulled the manager, John, aside to sincerely thank him for his kindness and we had a good discussion. He’s a good man, has a great team working for him, and runs his restaurant exceptionally well. We will continue to go there every week.
Sadly, most of the stories in the police blotter about items inadvertently left in shopping carts or misplaced in stores have unhappy endings. We thought you would want to know about a story that was good news with a very happy ending and we thank you for your continued excellent journalism.
