On Dec. 1 and 2, Wells Fargo will partner with Mercer County-based Family Guidance Center and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to host four free financial education workshops for military service members and their families. The classes are scheduled to take place on both days from 10:30 a.m. to noon and again from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. They will be held at 891 Brunswick Avenue in Trenton.
Attendees at the Hands on Banking for Military® financial education program will learn how the banking system works, how to save money properly for savings and retirement and how to spend wisely. Additionally, participants will learn about the various financial resources offered to military service members.
This newly launched program is part of the company’s $35 million, three-year commitment to helping veterans, military members and their families with sustainable housing, career transition and financial education. To date, the company has surpassed that three-year goal in just two years. Wells Fargo has donated (or is in the process of donating) more than 230 Real Estate Owned (REO) properties valued at more than $36 million to wounded warriors, participated in more than 500 military job fairs and hired more than 3,600 veterans.
Each session is limited to 16 participants who must pre-register. Free parking is available. For more information or to register call Consumer Credit Counseling Service at 586-2574.
