As a stay at home mother, Sally Franklin was very involved in the work of her two school–aged sons, but when she started in the real estate industry about 12 years ago, her family became interested in her work.
Now, Franklin works at Gloria Nilson with her husband, Peter Franklin, and son, Sam Franklin.
Franklin got her license to work in real estate after a friend suggested that she would be good at working in that industry.
“It really fit me like a glove, this type of business,” Franklin said. “I flourished in it. I liked it. I did very, very well when I started in the business.”
Franklin’s list of clients grew quickly, and in 2002, Peter Franklin got his license and began working with her. Sam Franklin got his license at the end of 2003, and has been working in the industry on a full–time basis since he and his parents joined Gloria Nilson.
One reason the Franklins decided to work for Gloria Nilson is that company gave them access to better marketing services to use with their clients, Sam Franklin said.
Peter Franklin said that he, Sally Franklin and Sam Franklin work together and independently. All of the sales associates contribute their own strengths. For example, Sam Franklin can speak Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
The Franklins were ranked first within their Gloria Nilson office for units under contract for the month of January, Sam Franklin said.
Although their office is in Princeton Junction, Sam Franklin said they have a lot of business in nearby towns like East Windsor, West Windsor, Plainsboro, Hamilton and Robbinsville.
Sam Franklin said some clients come to Gloria Nilson asking about homes in other towns, but ultimately wind up in Robbinsville.
“We promote it, and so many people who are coming to this area actually find what they’re really looking for (in Robbinsville),” he said.
Sam Franklin said that they have received positive feedback about the schools and communities from clients who have moved to Robbinsville. Sally Franklin said that people who have moved to the Robbinsville Town Center have appreciated the proximity to local restaurants and businesses that it provides.
All three sales associates are residents of Robbinsville. Sally Franklin said that this has given her a vested interest in making sure that the real estate market in the area remains strong.
“Apart from the fact that we’ve invested a lot of business time there, we actually are residents too,” she said. “So, it’s a personal investment into the town.”
