The Foxmoor Shopping Plaza was alive with activity as more than 75 business and community leaders gathered for the Economic Development Advisory Committee’s Summer Networking Event July 17.
Funnibonz BBQ Smokehouse, one of the plaza’s newest restaurants, hosted an outdoor BBQ featuring a buffet of pulled pork, wings and baked beans — with plenty of their signature sauces.
Mayor Dave Fried, State Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo and members of the Robbinsville Township Council came out to show their support for Robbinsville’s small business community.
EDAC chairman Dan Schuberth said FunniBonz BBQ Smokehouse is a great fit for Foxmoor plaza.
“[FunniBonz BBQ owner] Jim Barbour and his team have brought a lot of energy back into the area, and we’re proud that they chose Robbinsville for their first restaurant location.” Schuberth said in a statement. “Events like this serve to strengthen the relationships between neighbors in the Foxmoor plaza and contribute to a greater sense of community among local business owners throughout Robbinsville.”
The committee is looking ahead to two events in the fall. Partnering with the Recreation Committee, the EDAC is set to host a local business scavenger hunt for kids and parents in September.
In October, the group is set to present its first Robbinsville Business and Community Awards at its fall networking event. The polls are open now for Robbinsville residents to nominate their favorite business. Voting is online at robbinsville-twp.org/economic development/edacawards.html.
