Americans love their stuff, and the mere fact of not having enough home storage space to store it is often not enough to convince them to declutter.
Enter Omega Storage. The growing company owns, develops and operates Omega Storage centers in five locations: four in New York and one on Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence, on the Hamilton side of U.S. 1.
Omega offers clients coded gate access to the storage facility seven days a week and provides 24-hour digital surveillance in an effort to keep clients’ possessions safe.
Of course, customers don’t always need Omega’s services because they have run out of places to store their old furniture and paperwork. Many businesses avail themselves of self-storage facilities as a way of controlling their storage costs, since a unit at a facility like Omega generally costs less than the per-square-foot cost of office space.
“Especially for people who work out of their truck and home, it’s cheaper to use our facility than anywhere else,” said Omega Storage’s Ken Eben.
When it comes to self storage, Omega knows that one size does not fit all. That’s one reason they offer a variety of options when it comes to the amount of space their clients can rent.
The smallest space available is 5 feet by 5 feet, which is large enough to hold a chest of drawers, or 50 file boxes. From there spaces available range upward to a maximum of 20 feet by 20 feet — which is large enough, according to Omega, to hold the furnishings of a four-bedroom house or an office.
Around 65 percent of the units at Omega Storage are climate controlled, with the climate control available for an additional charge. Demand is higher for temperature-regulated units, Eben said.
For people looking for a place to store their vehicles, including boats and RVs, Omega also rents parking spaces. People who have to take their boats out of the water in the winter can leave them in Omega’s fenced-in lot.
Omega works with its customers to determine the best way to suit their needs. Once a deal is signed, customers can start moving their things in at their earliest convenience during business hours. Units are rented on a month-to-month basis, though longer leases are available.
Omega offers free flatbed handcarts available for clients’ use, and has U-Haul trucks available for rent. Tenants can also borrow the Omega Storage truck for free (plus gas and insurance) if they are moving their things to and from within a 20-mile radius.
They also have a wide selection of moving and packing supplies, so customers don’t have to hoard printer boxes and milk crates and other makeshift solutions. Supplies usually available for purchase include locks, covers, bubble wrap, boxes, box cutters and tape.
Omega Storage accepts a variety of payment types, including cash, check, money order, credit cards and online bill paying.
Omega Storage, 300 Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence, is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gate access hours are Monday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call (609) 584-1133 or go online to omegaselfstorage.com.
We’re very very service oriented and very clean. People like to keep their stuff in an environment that’s clean. You can accumulate a lot Ken Eben.
