With the holiday season just around the corner and chilly weather setting in, the ActorsNET of Bucks County is proud to announce the last weekend of their production of Major Barbara.

The play is one of the most popular works by master playwright George Bernard Shaw. Set in 1906 London, it follows Barbara, a Salvation Army major, who is reunited with her father Andrew Undershaft. But as Undershaft has made millions profiting from war munition sales, a moral battle ensues between the domineering father and independent daughter as they wrestle with the question: does salvation come through faith or finance? What happens when they clash is the magic of this delightfully smart, funny and timely play by the always witty G. B. Shaw.

Christopher Neuman of Hamilton stars alongside Barbara as Adolphus Cusins, an Australian-born professor of Greek. Cusins assists Barbara at her Salvation Army shelter where he plays the drum the officers march to. In order to win Barbara’s heart, however, Cusins must woo not only her, but her father’s fiery opinions.

Chesterfield resident Ernie Albanesius appears in Major Barbara as Bill Walker, a violently driven man searching for a lost love interest. When he storms into Barbara’s Salvation Army shelter a cunning dialogue on the nature of poverty follows.

Lawrenceville resident James Cordingley appears in a split role as Barbara’s trusted butler Morrison and an explosives foreman named Bilton. When the zany Charles Lomax enters an explosives shed with a lit match Bilton must confront him. Cordingley also volunteered his time to build the set featured in Major Barbara.
