The Robbinsville School District will host a virtual community information session tonight to explain a public question voters will decide in a special election on Tuesday, March 10.
The special hold the online session will run from from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to share information about the proposed funding measure and its potential impact on Robbinsville Public Schools.
District officials will provide an overview of the proposed funding, explain how it could affect district programs and operations, and answer questions from the community during the session.
To help ensure questions can be addressed within the one-hour timeframe, residents are encouraged to submit questions in advance through a Public Question Google Form on the district website.
The form will remain active during the information session for participants who may have questions after viewing the presentation.
Residents can register for the meeting and submit questions through the Public Question page of the district website at robbinsvillek12.gov.
The special school election will be held next Tuesday, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. All voting will take place at Robbinsville High School. There is no early in-person voting for the election.
Voters who wish to cast ballots by mail may request a vote-by-mail ballot through the Mercer County Clerk’s Office. The deadline to obtain a mail-in ballot in person from the county clerk is 3 p.m. March 9.
Sample ballots were mailed to voters March 4.
The vote comes after ongoing discussion in Robbinsville over school funding and the district’s financial outlook.
School officials have said rising costs and limits imposed by the state’s 2% property tax levy cap have created budget pressures that could affect programs and staffing without additional voter approval.
District leaders have said the public question is intended to provide funding flexibility while helping the district maintain educational programs and services.
