Robbinsville High School will open its doors to the community next week for a special celebration marking 20 years since the school welcomed its first students.
The milestone event is set for Monday, Sept. 8, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the school’s front parking lot.
The celebration is free and open to the public, with remarks from school leaders, student performances and reflections on two decades of academic and community achievements. Guests will also be invited inside the building for tours following the ceremony.
Superintendent Patrick Pizzo said the anniversary is a chance to honor both the school’s accomplishments and the people who have shaped its identity.
“In just 20 years, Robbinsville High School has become one of the premier public high schools in the state, fostering tremendous student success in academics, athletics and extracurriculars,” Pizzo said. “I am pleased to invite the Robbinsville community to celebrate the school’s achievements and terrific personnel.”
The high school opened in 2004, replacing the arrangement where Robbinsville students attended Lawrence High School through a sending-receiving relationship.
Its opening marked a turning point for the township, which had been one of the few districts in Mercer County without its own high school.
Since then, Robbinsville High School has become a cornerstone of township life, serving as more than just a place for learning.
It has hosted milestone graduations, championship games, concerts, theater productions, science fairs and community forums. Thousands of students have passed through its halls, going on to careers in business, science, the artsand public service.
Over the past two decades, Robbinsville High has built a strong reputation in both academics and athletics. Students have excelled in advanced placement courses, STEM programs, world languages and the arts. The school has regularly earned recognition for its academic growth and innovative programs.
Athletically, Robbinsville High has celebrated multiple state championships in softball, wrestling and track and field, while its soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams have produced memorable runs.
The school’s Ravens mascot has become a symbol of community pride, with games drawing spirited support from residents.
The anniversary ceremony will highlight many of those achievements while also recognizing the teachers, coaches, administrators and staff who have built the school’s foundation.
For alumni, the event will provide a chance to reconnect with classmates and revisit the building where they spent formative years.
School officials said the anniversary is also an opportunity to reflect on Robbinsville’s growth as a community. Since the high school’s opening, the township has expanded significantly, with new housing, businesses and community organizations shaping its identity.
The Sept. 8 celebration is expected to bring together current and former students, staff, families and residents to honor the school’s place at the heart of the township.
