The Robbinsville Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for its Adult Citizen Police Academy.
The goal of the program, which has room for about 20 participants, is to demonstrate and educate township residents on the roles, functions, technology and specialized units of the department.
“This unique opportunity will allow our township residents to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of our police department,” states a post on the RTPD’s website. “In addition to classroom instruction, there will be a scheduled patrol ride-along.”
Space is limited — there is room for only 20 participants. They must be 21 years of age or older and consent to a background check. There will be no physical fitness involved.
Sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Orientation will be on Sept. 18, and classes will conclude on Oct. 30.
