YWCA Princeton announced the appointments of Courtney Matlock as Chief Advancement Officer and Ruben Johnson as Chief Program and Impact Officer.

Matlock will lead development and marketing efforts, including fundraising, donor stewardship, and marketing strategies to support the organization’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women across Central New Jersey.

“Courtney is a leading expert in fundraising and donor cultivation. Her leadership will be instrumental as we build toward long-term financial sustainability and continue the momentum of our capital campaign, Transforming Tomorrow Together,” said Rose Wong, CEO of YWCA Princeton.

“Throughout her career, Courtney has raised millions of dollars to support mission-driven organizations, resulting in significant growth and stability. This proven track record, coupled with her ability to foster collaborative internal cultures, will be instrumental in expanding the organization,” Wong said.

“YWCA Princeton is in an exciting season of growth and strategic expansion. My expertise in advancing organizations and amplifying their impactful work strongly aligns with the YWCA’s institutional priorities to ensure sustainable growth in Central New Jersey,” said Matlock.

In his new role, Johnson will provide strategic leadership across the comprehensive program portfolio, including expanding outreach and outcomes to broaden YWCA’s reach and deepen its impact throughout Central New Jersey. He holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Systems, and his work reflects a strong commitment to building inclusive organizations that deliver a significant, measurable impact.

“Ruben brings more than twenty years of leadership in nonprofit, education, and community-based organizations, with a career dedicated to promoting equity, strengthening programs, and expanding access for communities most in need – these are all areas that align with the work we do every day at the YWCA,” Wong said.

The organization plans to take a strategic approach to developing thoughtful programming that meets the needs of the expanding constituency.

“YWCA Princeton is an exceptional organization with a dedicated team focused on developing programs that support communities in the Greater Mercer County area. As we expand throughout Central New Jersey, we will tailor our program plans to meet the needs of these communities,” said Johnson.

“Here at the YWCA, our work relies heavily on the strength of our leaders. Courtney Matlock and Ruben Johnson exemplify the values of equity, accountability, and community-centered leadership. I am confident that their vision and dedication will improve our programs, bolster our team, and increase our impact for the families and communities we serve,” Wong said.
