The 18th annual Trinity Turkey Trot is slated for Thursday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m.
The timed 5K run/walk is set to begin and end at Trinity Church, 33 Mercer St., in Princeton.
The scenic course route winds through the heart of Princeton, passing Albert Einstein’s former residence, the campus of Princeton University and the Institute for Advanced Study.
First held in 2008, the Trinity Turkey Trot began as a small Thanksgiving-morning community run organized by the clergy and parishioners of Trinity Church.
Over the years the event has grown significantly, drawing more than 2,000 runners and walkers of all ages and staging a food drive alongside the race.
The event is held entirely outdoors, and race-day registration is not permitted. Early registration and bib pickup are advised.
The final bib and T-shirt pickup window is scheduled for Nov. 26 from noon to 4 p.m.
Organizers say that all proceeds from the Trinity Turkey Trot benefit local outreach partners including Arm in Arm and other Mercer County charities, supporting food, housing and community initiatives.
Race registration and details, as well as volunteer signup opportunities, are online at trinityturkeytrot.org.
