Author Daniel Stashower is scheduled to discuss his book Feb. 12.
The event is set for 7 p.m. at Princeton Public Library, 65 Witherspoon St, Princeton.
Stashower will discuss and sign copies of his book “The Hour of Peril: The Secret Plot to Murder Lincoln Before the Civil War.”
In “The Hour of Peril,” Stashower writes about the “Baltimore plot,” a conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln as he traveled by train from Illinois to Washington, D.C., for his inauguration. The plot was discovered by detective Allan Pinkerton and thwarted with the help of Kate Warne, America’s first female private eye.
Stashower is biographer and narrative historian. He has won the Edgar, Agatha, and Anthony awards, and the Raymond Chandler Fulbright Fellowship in detective fiction.
