The Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce will host Nobel Laureate Dr. Harvey Alter as the featured speaker at the return of the Albert Einstein Memorial Lecture Series on Tuesday, June 10, at the Nassau Inn.
The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the lecture beginning at 7 p.m. Capacity is limited, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance.
Alter, who received the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his co-discovery of the hepatitis C virus, will deliver a lecture titled “Hepatitis C: The End of the Beginning and Perhaps the Beginning of the End.”
His talk will explore the history and impact of the hepatitis C virus, the success of curative treatments, and the global potential for eradication through a test-and-treat strategy.
“The Einstein Memorial Lecture Series reflects the spirit of innovation inherent in our region,” said Chamber CEO Hal English. “We are looking forward to hearing Dr. Alter’s talk, and we are proud that we can make that experience available to the broader community.”
The Einstein Memorial Lecture Series, presented by the Chamber and the Princeton Regional Chamber Foundation, honors one of the region’s most famous residents and promotes scientific advancement and education. It is the only event of its kind hosted by a Chamber of Commerce.
