A Trenton man has been charged with murdering his girlfriend—a Plainsboro woman—after allegedly strangling her and hiding her body under her bed, according to authorities.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Plainsboro Police Chief Eamon Blanchard announced that Rahim Johnson, 43, of Trenton, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death Victoria Lee, 26, of Ravens Crest Drive.

Lee’s body was discovered on Feb. 25 after she was reported missing nearly a month earlier.

According to the criminal complaint filed against him, Johnson used an electrical cord to strangle Lee and then hid her body under her bed. During a police interview, Johnson admitted to arguing with Lee on Jan. 24, the last day she was seen alive.

He claimed she had cut him with a knife, and although he attempted to stop her, Johnson told authorities he was “out of it” and unsure if he had something to “do with it or not.”

When he regained clarity, Lee was dead, and he decided to hide her body and take her cell phone, which he used along with her banking apps, according to the complaint, said the complaint.

Lee’s father reported her missing to the Plainsboro Police Department on Jan. 30. He told police that the last time he saw his daughter was on Jan. 24 at her home, where she lived Johnson.

He said he last saw Johnson at the residence the following day.

After Lee was reported missing, police learned that several people had received text messages from her phone requesting money through Zelle and Cash App accounts. Transactions from Lee’s bank accounts were also traced to Trenton during the period she was missing, up until the day her body was found.

Johnson was arrested on Feb. 26 in Trenton on a parole violation, according to authorities. He has a criminal record dating back to 2002, including convictions for receiving stolen property, burglary, resisting arrest, and endangering the welfare of a child. Johnson had been released from prison in October 2024.

In addition to first-degree murder, Johnson was charged with third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the case to contact Plainsboro Officer Daniel Larocca at 609-799-2333 ext. 1678 or Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Stephanie Redline at 732-745-3316.
