Marinsky has experienced the district from the inside

I wholeheartedly endorse Deborah Marinsky for a West Windsor seat on the school board. She and I were colleagues at High School South for 15 years, during which time we saw many changes in administrative leadership and curriculum and instruction.

The WW-P Board needs a voice that has truly experienced the district from the inside, someone who has taught students from all backgrounds, who has interacted and engaged with students within the walls of our schools.

As a media specialist at High School South, Deborah interacted with almost every student at South during his/her four years. She worked countless hours for many years as advisor to the yearbook, SAASA and Senior One Acts.

Her genuine nature and desire to see students’ engaged in their cultural passions through SAASA and exploring their individual voices in the Senior One Acts further prove her qualifications to work within a district that continues to need and must celebrate its various voices. Deborah understands that the loudest voices should not be the only ones heard.

Deborah understands that cutting educational programs and taking power away from teachers is never the answer. She understands that when expectations for teachers and students change from year to year, everyone suffers.

Deborah understands that our students must become responsible 21st century citizens, who must be stewards to the environment, and she hopes to work alongside parents and teachers in district-wide recycling efforts that are currently underway.

Deborah understands that our schools belong to everyone in the community and that everyone belongs in the discussion as to how tax dollars will be spent. It is crucial that taxpayers not be kept in the dark, with surprise million dollar expenditures.

As a former High School South Language Arts teacher and the mother of a Dutch Neck third grader, I wholeheartedly endorse Deborah Marinsky’s candidacy and hope you will do the same on November 8.
