Credit to JCP&L For Sandy Response

I have no dogs in the hunt, but I feel the mayor and your paper did not give enough credence to the insurmountable task faced by JCP&L as opposed to PSE&G. The PSE&G territory was more inland from the storm, with a much smaller area to cover. JCP&L had the entire eastern part of New Jersey to consider as well as West Windsor. Old Dutch Neck Road was a disaster zone, and that is on the western, somewhat less exposed, side of the JCP&L territory.

I heard over 101.5 radio that JCP&L by Tuesday morning, November 6, had removed 55,000 trees from their power lines with a lot more to go. Just south of West Windsor had little damage except for some branches, and that included a lot of the JCP&L territory. If you look on the internet the territories were dramatically different in their exposure to the storm.

I think you should reconsider statements made in your newspaper. I am sending a copy of this letter to the mayor.
