The Board of Trustees of the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County announced several key promotions at its meeting on Oct. 21.
David E. Anderson, who has served as Executive Director for the past 11 years, is now President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Reginald J. Coleman, formerly the Club’s Associate Executive Director, was promoted to Executive Director of the Trenton Club.
Anderson joined the Boys & Girls Club as Executive Director in 2003. Since then, the Club has increased the number of youths served daily from 120 to more than 1,000 in 2014. In his new position as President and CEO, Anderson will focus on the growth of the Boys & Girls Club to serve more youths, as well as the administrative and fundraising needs of the organization.
Coleman, a Trenton native who began his career at the Boys & Girls Club in 1998 as Education Director, will now assume operating responsibilities for the Club’s 12 program sites within the City of Trenton.
Coleman previously served as Associate Executive Director from 2009 to 2014, and was responsible for supervising daily operations and program staff. He was honored as the 2006 Professional of the Year by the Garden State Chapter of the Association of Boys & Girls Club Professionals.
The two staff announcements come as the Boys & Girls Club prepares for the opening of a new community center on Spruce Street in Lawrence Township.
The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County provides young people, ages five to 18, in Trenton and surrounding communities with safe havens, academic enrichment and recreational activities through after-school, weekend and summer programs.
