14th annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks set for Oct. 6

Autism Speaks is set to host a 5k run and 1.5 mile family-friendly walk in October.

14th annual Central Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks is scheduled for Oct. 6 at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.

Check-in for the walk is set to begin at 10 a.m.; the walk is set to start at 12 p.m.

Before the walk, Central New Jersey community of Autism Speaks is set to host its inaugural 5K Run. The race is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.; check-in opens at 8 a.m.

Both events will be filled with family activities such as face painting, rock wall climbing, craft tables and music and dance performances.

Autism Speaks is an autism science and advocacy organization dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
