WW-P needs new board members

Over the last several years I’ve asked the school administration many times if our curriculum would change to mirror Common Core. I was told every single time that it would not, because our curriculum was superior to the Common Core standards. So why did our superintendent just change 50 curricula to meet those standards? And why did the BOE support those changes — with at least one incumbent school board candidate admitting to not even reading them?

I’ve regularly attended school board meetings for several years and I have written about Common Core, PARCC testing and even the selection of inferior textbooks. Over time I’ve seen a stunning lack of transparency by the administration, and a frightening lack of critical thinking on our school board. What’s most troublesome to me is that our Board of Ed regularly and blindly approves whatever is put before them. And this is doing a tremendous disservice to our children.

We need new BOE members representing West Windsor’s families. It’s time to elect people who are willing to do their research, ask tough questions, and base their votes on facts.

I’m supporting Carol Herts and Deborah Marinsky for WWP BOE because they value the same things I value: a high-quality, well-rounded education for our children. I hope you’ll support them, too.
