Look to Princeton For More Parking

Princeton University should be allowed to move the Dinky station to make room for university development. That would be a great benefit for Princeton residents, as long as it adds a minimum of 2,000 parking spaces for commuters and daily riders. There is no parking in Princeton Junction during the day, and the waiting list for a sticker there is five to seven years.

After two years of waiting, I am number 2,152 for the Alexander Road parking lot. For the Wallace Road parking lot, I am only 1,368. The Dinky Line would allow Princeton residents to park at the train station when going to New York. The university already owns considerable land adjacent to the Dinky tracks. Moving the Dinky station and adding parking would be a major benefit to the entire community.

Princeton University should not be allowed to move the Dinky station without adding desperately needed parking for Princeton residents and the planned future growth of the student population.
