Lights Out in West Windsor

I, along with five neighbors, signed a petition last January to West Windsor Township to request the installation of a street light in a dark section of the street (due to a bend in street) for reasons of safety and security. The next street parallel to us has bright lights all through the street. The township was kind enough to not bother responding to our petition on their own. After two months I called and they provided a cockamamie story that they want to keep a rural atmosphere and don’t want too much light. Light will be only provided for benefit of cars, not people. They said they are looking into it and will let me know.

Since then one year has passed. I have not heard a word. The township doesn’t have the courtesy to inform us either way. If my property tax is $2 short, I am sure collection agencies will line up at my door on behalf of the township.

West Windsor residents and anybody planning to move to this town should know this.
