Holiday Drives a Success

This year the Plainsboro Food Pantry, in cooperation with Queenship of Mary Church, provided Thanksgiving baskets of food and more than 250 gifts to help those less fortunate enjoy the holidays through the Holiday Wishes campaign. The Girls Scout troops in the West Windsor Plainsboro Service Unit also participated by donating baked goods for each family. Families served by this program also rely on the support of the community year round to provide food assistance.

The Department of Recreation & Community Services would like to thank the Queenship of Mary Church volunteers and parishioners, the Girl Scout troops who participated, and the countless volunteers and residents who granted wishes by donating gifts. Gifts were purchased based on the wishes of the recipients, which were displayed on the tags on the giving trees. On December 20 the gifts, food, and baked goods were distributed to the food pantry recipients by volunteers.

Donations of non-perishable food items are accepted year round for the Plainsboro Food Pantry at the Plainsboro Municipal Building and Plainsboro Recreation and Cultural Center at 641 Plainsboro Road. For more information call 609-799-0909 x1712 or visit www.plainsboronj.com.
