As an assemblyman representing the 14th District I work with many of our local school boards, and I have been impressed by WW-P School Board member Rachelle Hurwitz. She is thoughtful and passionate about representing the best interests of her community and the students in her district.
Rachelle has been not just active on the Board, but has been a strong advocate to the New Jersey School Boards Association and supporter of the WW-P Education Foundation. She has taken a particular interest in reaching out to the diverse communities that make up the district to ensure that all cultures are respected and differing viewpoints are heard. Working with parents, I have sought to improve the educational experience for students with special needs. Rachelle Hurwitz has provided valuable input as we have sought new laws ensuring a positive and safe educational environment for all students.
Most importantly, Rachelle supports maintaining the high academic standards that WW-P families have come to expect and has advocated for strong honors and AP programs to ensure students are prepared for the best universities.

Rachelle Hurwitz has been highly dedicated to the WW-P Board of Education and the students in our schools. She is currently the standing president of the Mercer County Committee, where she is working to build school board interest and have more people attend Mercer County meetings. Additionally, she serves on the New Jersey School Board Association’s (NJSBA) special education committee, where she has advocated for school board member training in special education as well as cost-saving measures legislation.
Rachelle brings a principled, ethical approach to the school board and has proven her leadership by going outside of the district to gain valuable insight to serve our community and students.
