Cub Scouts visit Camp Ockanickon

I recently had my first experience at Camp Ockanickon, a scout reservation, with fellow scouts from Cub Scout Pack 759, chartered by Queenship of Mary Church in Plainsboro. We went camping over the weekend of June 25 to get an idea of what it’s going to be like when we go as Boy Scouts.

The thing they wanted us to acquire from this experience is how to work as a team and make friendships. From collaborating with the volunteers in each activity to creating a fire, we worked together. We also practiced skits with some people in our pack to perform by the camp fire. We met new friends.

My favorite activities were the BB guns, archery and rock climbing. Even if I didn’t hit a lot of targets, and I almost finished the rock climbing, I still had a lot of fun. There was also paper rocket making, swimming and science experiments. I look forward to coming here as a Boy Scout.
