Children of Mercer County employees celebrate Take Your Child to Work Day with a kick-off from Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes on April 24, 2014.

Children of Mercer County employees celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day by visiting several county facilities on April 24.

After a kick-off from Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes, children listened to a presentation by the Mercer County Wildlife Center, featuring animals from the center.

They are also set to visited various government offices at the McDade Administration Building in Trenton and the Department of Transportation offices in Ewing and participate in pony rides by the Mercer County Equestrian Center, golf activities and tennis activities by the Mercer County Park Commission, and sheep shearing with staff of Howell Living History Farm.

Children also received a goody bag filled with treats from the county executive, Sheriff Jack Kemler and others.
