Princeton Public Library is set to hold the first program of the 2015-2016 Spotlight on the Humanities series on Monday, September 28, 2015. The program will begin at noon in the library’s Community Room located at 65 Witherspoon Street in Princeton.
The program will introduce this year’s theme “Public Policy in America” and explore the importance of the humanities in shaping public policy. New Jersey Council for the Humanities Executive Director Briann Greenfield will interview Stanley Katz, president emeritus of the American Council of Learned Societies as part of the program.
The series is set to continue Monday, October 21 at noon when Stephen Macedo, Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Politics at the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University, will present “The Future of Marriage.” Macedo is the author of “Just Married: Same-Sex Couples, Monogamy, and the Future of Marriage.”
Spotlight on the Humanities is presented with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence.
