IW3E to host Theater Gala Benefit

The Institute of Wonderful Women Working for Empowerment (IW3E) is set to host a Theater Gala in conjunction with McCarter Theatre’s production of “The Piano Lesson” on Sunday, January 10, 2016 starting at 2 p.m. Immediately following the performance there will be a meet-the-cast reception, dinner, silent auction and live music.

One of August Wilson’s most powerful and transcendent works, The Piano Lesson is a profound, melodic tale set in 1930s Pittsburgh.

Proceeds for the event will benefit IW3E’s Just in Time Scholarship and Mentoring Program. The cost for the Gala event is $85.

The Institute of Wonderful Women Working for Empowerment, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the well-being of African-American women and their families living in Trenton and Greater Mercer County, New Jersey. IW3E raises funds to help area women who are studying to become nurses, certified nursing assistants and healthcare technicians by providing funds to help pay for expenses including tuition, books, respite childcare costs, nurses kits, transportation and clinical scrubs.
