Homestead Princeton has been named to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 CO—100: America’s Top 100 Small Businesses, earning the distinction as the only New Jersey business recognized on the list.
Co-founded by Kristin and Ron Menapace, the Princeton retailer has grown into one of the state’s premier independent destinations for gifts, furniture, and home furnishings.
Homestead Princeton opened its doors in 2012—just 48 hours before Hurricane Sandy came ashore. From those uncertain beginnings, the business quickly became a thriving local landmark, offering curated home décor and meaningful gifts.

With four children raised in Princeton, the Menapaces describe Homestead as truly a family business. “We wanted to bring affordable, small-batch, American-made gifts, furniture, and home décor—things you won’t find in chain stores—right to our local community,” Kristin said. “Over the years, that idea has grown into a destination for people near and far who love the Homestead experience.”
