State Senator Linda Greenstein is organizing a special toy collection, Toys for Nico, to help three-year-old Nico McLaughlin of Robbinsville.

Last May, McLaughlin was diagnosed with Evans Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that destroys the body’s red and white blood cells and platelets, making patients susceptible to illness and bleeding.

Carella’s Card and Gift Shop is collecting new toy donations for children at the New Jersey Cancer Institute. The shop is located at 2305 Nottingham Way in Hamilton.
