Students compete in spelling and geography bees at Lawrence Intermediate School

Lawrence Intermediate School held its annual Geography and Spelling Bees in December. The bees were organized by Erika Stubbs and Irene Tarasov, sixth grade teachers at the school.

The Geography Bee was held on Dec. 4 for students in fourth through sixth grades.

The fourth grade winner was Sonia Chakrabory, the fifth grade winner was Garrett Durso-Finley and the sixth grade winner was Ian Tseng. Tseng was the overall winner.

The Spelling Bee was held on Dec. 11 for students in fifth and sixth grades and utilized the Scrippts National Spelling Bee lists.

The fifth grade winners were Jack Granahan and Theo Sardain. The sixth grade winners were Dessy Susichka and Amritha Sypereddi. Dusichka was the overall winner.
