Slackwood Elementary School school counselor selected 15 third graders to be peer mediators for the school year.

Dedicated to helping others solve problems, the mediators give up one recess period each week to learn the skills needed to perform mediations at school.

In order to be chosen as a mediator, students must complete a job application. Interested students receive applications in a guidance class introducing conflict resolution to all third graders.

They have one week to complete the application and return it to the school counselor Melanie Seaman. Once all applications are received, they are reviewed and students are selected.
