Local artist S.L. Baker is set to display her work at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library through Dec. 31.

The exhibition, titled Being Still, features paintings about Buddhist thought, social and familial concern. Working mostly in acrylic on canvas and using fingers instead of brushes, the paintings are often influenced by meditation practice.

Born in Princeton, S.L. Baker is a life-long resident of the area and a retired New Jersey public school teacher. She lives in Lawrenceville with her husband, who is a professional musician and songwriter. Baker is also a published poet and lyricist.

Her work is on display in the East Lobby Gallery at the Lawrence Headquarters Branch of the Mercer County Library, 2751 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville.
