Lawrenceville Main Street is inviting locals to their annual Scarecrows in the Village event, a free family-friendly afternoon in Lawrenceville’s Weeden Park.

At this year’s event, set for Saturday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests will compete for bragging rights as they try to create the most unique scarecrow.

Lawrenceville Main Street will provide the hay, and attendees should bring clothing, shoes and accessories. Any leftover, usable items will be donated to the Lawrence Middle & High School Parent Teacher Organization for their clothing drive fundraiser.

The Beagles, a fun-loving Mercer County sextet, will perform power pop, rock and soul tunes from the 1960s through today, as well as folk and family favorites. Frances Cathering Ihling, will also be performing upbeat arrangements from her album A Million Stars.

Lawrenceville Main Street is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to fostering a sense of community and continuing the revitalization of the historic downtown area by organizing events, building partnerships, cultivating the business environment, and enhancing the physical setting of the Village of Lawrenceville.
