Hopewell Valley Golf & Country Club will celebrate its 90th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 3 to 9 p.m. with activities for the whole family.
From 3 to 5 p.m., the club with host free family-focused activities for children and adults. There will be a bouncy house and Golfzilla, a giant inflatable with targets for golf balls. Free Cream King ice cream and cotton candy will also be available for children.
At the same time, golfers can step back in time with a nine-hole heritage game of golf with formats including a hickory-shafted club contest. Fee for the none holes, including cart, per person is $35 for nonmembers, $20 for members.
At 5 p.m., local historian David Blackwell will discuss the role the golf course has played in Hopewell history. From 5 6:30 p.m., there will be tastings of beer from River Horse Brewing Company, wines from Hopewell Valley Vineyards and spirits from Sourland Mountain Spirits distillery.
From 6:30 9 p.m., enjoy live jazz and a farm to table dinner prepared by Chef John and his team using a variety of local flavors and ingredients. Tickets are limited and are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. A cash bar will also be available.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will support the Hopewell Historical Society.
