Last week, Mayor Peters-Manning and Deputy Mayor Chait celebrated Hopewell Township Carvel and its owner, Henry Wong, for participating in PSE&G’s energy efficiency program.

Wong wished to increase monthly energy savings while improving in-store comfort. The solution? Upgrade two aging and malfunctioning rooftop units, and optimize their performance with dual enthalpy economizers and smart start features.

Dual enthalpy economizers work by pulling cooler outside air into a space to reduce air conditioning runtime. This is also known as free cooling. When paired with self-learning thermostats, which manage temperatures automatically, Wong says he was able to boost savings and comfort at the same time.
