The Hopewell Branch of the Mercer County Library System will host a piece of steel recovered from the World Trade Center as part of a special exhibit commemorating the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

The steel will be transferred to the Hopewell Branch during a ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at approximately 9:15 a.m. The event is open to the public.

“Twenty-three years have passed since the horrific terrorist attacks of 9/11, but our responsibility remains to remember and honor those who were taken from us on that day,” said County Executive Dan Benson.

“This piece of steel from the World Trade Center symbolizes our commitment to remember the victims of 9/11, as well as our continuing responsibility to their families and to the first responders who served with bravery on that terrible day,” Benson said.

The steel will be on display at the Hopewell Branch, located at 245 Pennington-Titusville Road through August 2025. For more information about the Mercer County Library System and the 9/11 steel exhibit, visit www.mcl.org.
