Celebrate Pennington’s 125th anniversary April 19

The Opening Ceremony for Pennington’s 125th anniversary celebration will be held on Sunday, April 19.

The Pennington Methodist Church is set to host the Opening Ceremony for Pennington’s 125th anniversary celebration on Sunday, April 19 at 5 p.m. The event will be located at 60 South Main Street in Pennington and will be free and open to the public.

This will be the first of several events to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Incorporation of Pennington Borough 1890 – 2015.

The program will include a historical slide show, “Pennington Past and Present” by Tom O’Neill, “A Look At The Future” presentation by Pennington Planning Board chairman Winn Thompson, a musical presentation by the Hopewell Valley chorus and a presentation of a New Jersey Legislative Resolution sponsored by Senator Shirley Turner and Assembly members Reed Gusciora and Elizabeth (Liz) Muoio. Organist Cynthia Westbrook will provide a musical prelude and postlude.

Additional events will include a tour of Pennington’s churches from 2 to 5 p.m. followed by an ecumenical service at 6 p.m. at the Pennington Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 26.
