Wilson fifth graders dedicate themselves to community service projects

On Monday, Feb. 9, fifth grade officers were inducted into the Earlyact Club at Wilson Elementary School in Hamilton for the 2014-2015 school year.

The Earlyact club is a community service club for kids that encourages them to come up with their own ideas for projects to help others.

The club is working on a school-based project, a community-based project and an international project.

For the school project, club members are volunteering during their recess two days a week to help other students with classwork.

The community project is a food and clothing drive to benefit the Wilson Community Center.

The international project is raising money for an international charity called “School in Box” that sends school supplies to children all over the world.
